Company Life and Culture Poster

When you want to decorate your company walls with mood images in a "Life Poster" form, you can de this by these few steps:

• 
  First you must collect images from your company. I recomend a lot of very different images with different colors and lightning. Images with a lot of small details are not recomended. All images are stored in one directory. Make copies of your images - do not move them to the directory.
  


• 
  Images, which are not in landscape mode must be cropped, and I suggest to open them in PhotoShop and select the cropping icon. In the menu bar set the width to 4in and height to 3in
  
  - then select the cropping area, hit enter and then save the image again.
  


• 
  Images are ofteh numbered so to shuffle the images in the directory, you must rename the images so they are mixed together - this gives the best result. On my mac, I use the following bash-command in the directory where the images are stored:
  

  for i in *.jpg ; do mv $i $RANDOM.jpg ; done

  
  This will give the images random names. If you have gif-images, you need to modify the command.
  


• 
  Now your images are ready for building your company life and culture poster. Open PhotoShop and select "File -> Automate -> Contact Sheet II". If you would like to create a poster like the one shown above, you should fill it out like this:
  
  Remember to select the directory where your images are and remember this requires 217 images in the directory.
  


• 
  For printing, I use A3 in landscape mode - PhotoShop will automatically generate the right number of pages, so you can stick them to your wall next to each other. This requires the following settings:

  Now you are done - just press "OK" and sit down and wait - this can take 20-30 minutes.
