After doing an almost "all-nighter", I finally got updated the OS X from the DVD's that was delivered with the computer, and now everything seem to be working fine.

The only thing I lost was the 2 hours of editing a document about energy savings :-(

So now I can continue redoing the editing and to get my old emails restored from Outlook 2003.

My #€%&/@ macPro

My #€%&/@ macPro

So, now I got most of my software installed. Entourage is working and syncronizing against the company Exchange server and I got most of my files transferred, so everyting seem fine...

... but then I rebooted the computer and just after the finder is up and running, the MacBook completely locks up. I can't even Ctrl+Eject or anything. Nothing to do. Tried to reboot in all different ways Apple's support page suggested and I even reset the RAM etc.

Only one thing to do - reinstall the OS X!!!

The difference between a Windows XP and OS X - OS X has greater colors when the computer completely locks up!!!

Did I make the wrong choice by doing the switch - the next weeks will show, but for now it doesn't look great.

Got my MacBook Pro

Got my MacBook Pro

Sweeet! I just got my Mac today - at 11:23 the DHL guy dropped it off and I unwrapped it, and it is for sure a fine looking gadget.

I powered it up and got it up n' running, but it took me a while to get the WLAN to work with encryption.

I brought it home and started to install the useual programs and all worked fine even though most was for the PowerPC and not for the new Intel Dual Core processor. The speed is great for these applications and everything works - except the Cisco VPN.

I got a -51 error which said that it couldn't start when there was not connection to the internet, but I was online. I searched Cisco useless site but it wasn't possible to find anything. After googling I found that Cisco had a new version of their VPN client (4.9.00 (0050)) that should be universal binary. It was impossible to find it on the cisco homepage for download so I ended up by finding it on some UCLA website and then I could download it. This works fine and now I am online on our exchange server.

Now I started to download all files from my sony PC and this is a problem. I got my Sony PC mounted, but the MacBook Pro keeps stalling and I have to reboot. Funny how they all say that you should do the switch so you shouldn't reboot.
