I got my first IBM PC back in 1982 - I got the IBM PC number three which come to Denmark. I have tried almost anything on a PC and have been running since IBM DOS 1.0 and all the way to Windows XP - including GEM (a graphical user interface which was out before Windows).
I use to laugh at people running on a Macintosh, but now I am so fed up with the Windows user interface, the operating system that often stall's my PC for 10-15 minutes etc.
So yesterday I saw Steve Job's keynote where he presented the MacBook Pro and I'm up for it. I have already been flirting with an iMac running OS X and I also once had a NeXT Station, so I am not complete novice on the field, but shifting the laptop which I use 17 hours a day is a big step for me. Last night I tested to see if Entourage (the OSX version of Outlook) could import my emails (7GB) and it didn't, but I bought a $10 tool, which could convert the emails for me and I worked out beautifully. Then I set up the Cisco VPN connection to work and that also went fine - I even managed to set up a printer on work to my default printer. The last thing was to try to see if I could read the powerpoints and word documents I have from work and that also seemed fine.
So, I'm ready and I just ordered the brand new MacBook Pro from the Apple Store and I got a confirmation email saying 5 weeks of delivery time - this is so exciting!!!
