Spamfilter from Cloudmark

Spamfilter from Cloudmark

A new way of looking into spam has been launched from one of the Napster founders. It is called SpamNet from the company cloudmark. The idea is that spam mail is send to millions of users and when an user hits the "block" button, the spam mails is reported to the SpamNet, and based on the user and the quality and regularity of his previous reports it is rated. The filtering algoritm is then based on all the blocks and the user ratings. It sounds great, is easy to install - so now I just have to verify that it works...

Well - I have now used it for several months and it do work - here during the summer my daily spam has reached around 100 spam mails, but cloudmark filters around 97%. I have never experienced that non-spam has been moved except for a few mailing lists, but I have added them to my white-list, so this doesn't occur anymore. Overall I do like this product very much, and I will soon start to pay the $1.99 pr. month for this product. This price is for all who participated in the beta-program. Everybody else has to pay $3.99, but I'll tell you - it's worth it :-)
My spamnet has checked 15.990 messages and stopped 9306 messages - and they say that 50% of all mails is spam - for me it is more like 60%!!!
